Creve Coeur Police Station Addition
Project Size: 7,800 Square Feet Addition
Contract Amount: $768,796
Finish: Brick
Owner: Creve Coeur Police Department
Architect: Booker & Associates
This police station project consisted of a 7,800 sq. ft. two-story addition to the rear of the Creve Coeur City Hall. Because this is a 24/7 operation, care was taken to keep the police station and jail in operation with access and protection during construction.

This addition was capped with a half-barrel vault covered in standing seam metal roofing materials to help the new structure blend with the old. The utilization of steel frame and masonry construction with brick veneer during the winter months required weather protection to keep the project on schedule. Two major components of this addition were the indoor firing range and a new sally port for vehicle maintenance and secure prisoner transfers. The old range, located a couple miles away, had to be taken apart and reinstalled at the new location. This included dismantling and reassembling the solid steel bullet trap. To create the open span for the firing range, 75-foot trusses were required. Renovation of the existing police offices and command center were also part of this construction project.
